Student Choice

My subject for this project is Immokalee, Florida and the people from this town. On my Alternative Spring Break, I was able to spend a week in Sarasota and a day in a town called Immokalee. I learned how poor this town was with the average house selling for $24,000. It is common to have multiple families live in one house. Most individuals ride their bikes around town and travel to work this way. This is a big farm area where many migrants come to work in the fields. The point of this project is a different approach for me. I captured bright colors of the Florida buildings and sky along with an individual in every picture even if you have to look for it. I wanted to show my appreciation for these people and help the audience realize there is beauty in all places, it's just how you look at it.
