Advanced Peer Critique

GRACEY SMITH

Gracey is an amazing photographer.  I am never disappointed in a picture she takes. The editing in these shots, especially the second and third photo are beyond my expectations. I love Gracey's ability to take any scene and make something out of an ordinary place. The first picture is such a creative way to think of negative space. My favorite picture is the second one because of how she took the subject "Chuck Close" and captured it in her own way. The ideas of these five pictures are so different  especially, aspect wise. For this quarter, I would love to see some more depth of field and portrait photos. 

EMILY DAY

The eye picture is by far my favorite picture. I love how the center of the eye is surrounding by the awesome blue shadows. My favorite project of Emily's is the paper one because of how strong all her pieces are especially the two I included in my top five. The sky was a big part of your subjects and she definitely accomplished the beauty of it this quarter. The angles in every picture is so different and I think that is the strongest aspect of Emily's photos. I love how Emily captures perfect timing as well. For this quarter, I would love to see some more action shots and those different perspectives that really make people stop and stare. 

EMILY KRENZ

The first picture is my favorite picture that Emily took this quarter. I love the different colors and the depth of field in that shot. The lighting in the third picture definitely adds mystery and excitement to that image. I would love to see Emily take more shots like this. That third photo adds a little of mystery and explores new angles, including depth of field. I would love to see more creative scenes that Emily has to set up herself. I love the related colors displayed and the editing is done well in these shots. 

ME

These are my favorite shots. I tried to capture pictures with different aspects and angles. This quarter I really tried things out of my comfort level like making my sister sit in a milk bath, having Gracey standing on a ledge, and action shots that had to be precise. My favorite pictures were bathtub and   the Gracey shot because of how different they are from my other shots. I want to continue trying things outside of my comfort level and bringing out creative details to my pictures.
