Strategy: symmetry
I choose this piece because of how beautiful the sky looks in the background. With the perfect aperture setting to get the full effect of this picture. The railroad crossing really stands out with the symmetrical crossing lines.
From our conversation, Lauren really liked how the sky looked and caught the railroad crossing and the sunset at the right time.

I choose this piece because of how unique the set up of the picture is to the eye. At first glance you see black circles, but look further into a something much more detailed. It is well balanced with good framing to show the focus of the picture.

I enjoy this picture because of the different shades of light to dark in the blurry sky. The sky creates quite a pattern that is quite entertaining to look at. The simple branch is the focal point making the picture very balance for the intricate background. The rule of thirds was used quite nicely in this photo as well.
Photographer: Gracey Smith
Strategy: Framing, Balance
I choose this piece for the beautiful detail in the puddle. The colors have a theme of a very dark gray and blue. I can see the reflection of light and the interesting details of something so small.
From our conversation, Gracey enjoyed taking this picture and the detail it had to offer.

Photographer: Vicky Woodburn
Strategy: Framing, Balance
I really enjoy this picture for the reflection the light gives off. As shown in this picture, you can see something so dirty and change it into something so marvelous. Vicky did a good job capturing the light, the oil, and shadow of the cup.
From our conversation Vicky really liked how the oil reflected to show this shadow of the lid.

Photographer: Samantha Starkey
Strategy: Symmetry and Pattern
I enjoy this picture because of how detailed the picture is when looked at it closely. At, first you see all of this chalk and then you start to see little details here and there. In the left corner, there is a pink eraser and all the tiny marks on the used chalk.
